Charles Frank Mayzlik was born on Dec. 29, 1948 to Leslie & Wilma Mayzlik in Austin, MN.
Chuck graduated from Austin High School in 1966 and subsequently worked as a type of offset operator for the Austin Daily Herald, a job that he enjoyed and was rewarded with numerous promotions.
In Oct.1968 he was drafted into the U.S. Army. From March 1969 to March 1970 he served in the Vietnam War. He was wounded twice and received the Purple Heart on both occasions. He also received the Bronze Star and other medals for his bravery and Valor. Chuck was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in Oct. 1970 at the rank of Sargent.
Chuck worked for the Hormel Co. in Austin for approximately 10 years. During this time, he met and married Jane Lynn Stone on August 19, 1978 at the Grace Baptist Church in Austin.
Chuck & Jane moved to Ft. Collins, CO. where he attended and graduated from Ft. Collins University with a Masters Degree in Agricultural Statistics. He worked for the Federal Government as a Agricultural Statistician in Ft. Collins and was later promoted and transferred to Columbus, OH. He worked at the Columbus office until he retired in 2016.Chuck and Jane had a daughter Lesley Rae, who preceded them both in death. Chuck and Jane both were Born Again Christians who attended and served in Baptist Churched in the Columbus, OH area. Chuck was a very friendly gentleman who always displayed politeness, respect and concern for others. Chuck always put the interest of others before the interest of himself.
Chuck is survived by 6 remaining siblings, Merrilee, Janell, Timothy, Cynthia, Martin, Penelope. He is also survived by many Nieces and Nephews, Rebecca, Beth, Jennifer, Phillip, Tammy, Angela, Matthew, Christine, Scott, Carrie, Sarah, Rebecca, Jason, Joshua, Jacob, Tonya, Amanda, Danielle.
Chuck's favorite Gospel Hymn was "Just As I Am".
Chuck will be remembered fondly by his family and all who knew him.
