Charles E. "Gene" Wiseman, age 84 of Columbus, passed away at his residence with his 3 children by his side on June 4, 2017. He was born on November 2, 1932 to the late Charles L. and Luella (Rambo) Wiseman in Canon Station (Fultonham) Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 39 years Jo Ann (Keck) Wiseman, and a brother Roy Wiseman. Gene is survived by 3 children Charles R (Jennie) Wiseman, Kenny Wiseman and Kathy (Dante) Wiseman. He has 5 grandchildren Scott, Eric (Megan), Caitlin (Josh), Stephanie, Ashley (Jeffrey) and 3 great grandchildren Grant, Casen and Jordan. Charles is survived by his brothers Pearl Ray (Beulah) Wiseman, Max (Donna) Wiseman, and sister Helen (Ted) Bunting. Charles served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954 and in Korea in 1953 and 1954. Charles worked for the City of Columbus Division of Electricity for 30 years. He retired as Distribution Manager in 1985. He was very active in the 728th military police army reunions. He was 33rd Degree Mason and a member of the Magnolia Number 20 lodge. Charles enjoyed farming and pulling tractors. He was a collector of tractor parts and restoring tractors. Charles will be missed not only by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren but by many close friends and family.
The arrangements are being handled by Newcomers Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus on Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, also on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am.
He will be laid to rest at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, Reynoldsburg, OH.
