Charlotte Smith, 87, of Grove City, OH passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on January 10, 2013.
She was born in Bourneville, OH on January 27, 1925.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Emanual and Alta Jane (Cummings) Shoemaker, husband, Robert J. Smith, son, Harry J. McCoy, daughter, Pamela A. Stanley, granddaughter, Laura Elena Estrada, sister, Esther Shoemaker, brother, Charles Shoemaker and companion, Vaughn Jones.
Surviving family includes, children, Karen Cox, Michele (Tim) Latorre, grandchildren, Tiffany Holt, Erin (Henrik) Laursen, Monica Estrada, Elisha Darst, Kristen (Zack) Hildebrand, Zachary Latorre, great-grandchildren, Holly and Cody Holt, Tyler Wright, Jacob Burgett, Anna Laursen, Connor Hildebrand, Henry Laursen, great-great-grandson, Noah Van Gundy, brothers, Daryl Shoemaker, Donald Shoemaker, sister, Virginia Sansom and also survived by several nieces and a nephew. Charlotte was an active member of the Elks Lodge #2020 in Downey, CA and Lodge #37 in Grove City. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge #11 in Grove City. She retired as a real estate agent in California. Many of her favorite pastimes included traveling, going to casinos, fine dining, dancing, golfing and cards.
Charlotte held onto her independence until her final day. In honor of our mother's wishes, no funeral, viewing, or services will be held. Memorial contributions in memory of Charlotte may be directed to Mount Carmel Hospice.
