Cheryl "Tina" Christina Farmer, born on July 11, 1946, in Pinsonfork, Kentucky, was a beacon of love, kindness, and laughter to all who knew her. Tina passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024, surrounded by her devoted husband of 63 years, Frank E. Farmer, Jr., who she loved dearly.
From an early age, Tina displayed a bright spirit and a warm heart. She graduated from Central High School with high honors, showcasing her dedication and intelligence that would carry through her life. Tina's career at CCS was not just a job; it was a passion. She often expressed how much she adored her work, even stating with a smile that she would have worked there for free.
Tina and Frank's love story began when they were just teenagers, meeting at the tender ages of 15 and 16. Their bond flourished over shared moments at drive-in movie theaters, blossoming into a loving and supportive relationship that lasted an incredible 60 years. Together, they created a life filled with rich memories, from their travels to breathtaking destinations like the Grand Canyon—Tina's absolute favorite—to the enchanting resorts in Costa Rica, where they cherished a remarkable moment captured in a photograph with a volcanic eruption as their backdrop.
Tina's vibrant personality lit up every room she entered. Her wonderful sense of humor was infectious, and she had a unique ability to uplift those around her during difficult times with her encouraging words. Above all, Tina was a woman of faith; her relationship with God emerged from a profound baptism in a Kentucky river at just 12 years old, and this faith guided her interactions, reflecting God’s love through her genuine, compassionate spirit.
As a dedicated homemaker, Tina thrived in creating a nurturing, warm environment for her loved ones. Her family was her pride and joy—her children and grandchildren stood as her proudest accomplishments. Sons Frank E. (Betty) Farmer, III, and Todd Farmer, and daughters Kimberli (Eric) Wylie and Angela Tench, along with her beloved grandchildren—Megan Farmer, Aaron Farmer, Max Wylie, Ana Wylie, Emma Wylie, and Alexis Carter—will forever carry her legacy in their hearts.
Tina is also survived by her cherished husband Frank and her children, only saddened by the absence of her beloved family members who have preceded her in death, including her father, Floyd Ratliff, her mother, Bernice Ratliff, her son-in-law, Bob Tench, and her brother, William Ratliff.
The warmth of Tina's heart, her unwavering support, and her tender love will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. A beautiful soul, she taught us all the importance of love and family, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
