Christopher "Chris" R. McGruder

Christopher “Chris” R. McGruder, 64, of Grove City, passed away at home, surrounded by family on May 8, 2026. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 25, 1961 to James R. and the late Margaret “Peggy” A. (Burns) McGruder.

Along with his father, Jim, those left to cherish memories of Chris include sons, Casey, Christopher, and Adam; step-mother, Cola McGruder; brother, Jimmy (Dormeé) McGruder; longtime friend, Linda Saikas; grandchildren, Keirslyn and Kylarr; along with numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Along with his mother, Peggy, Chris was preceded in death by son, Corey McGruder.

Chris attended Northland High School. In life, he owned and operated “Chris’ ProTouch” Painting Co. – in both Florida and Ohio. He always enjoyed helping family and friends with their painting needs.

Chris loved THE Ohio State University sports, particularly football. He got to meet many Buckeye football players over the years. He loved all his dogs and cats throughout his life; most recently Bandit the dog and Midnight the cat.

Immediate family will greet friends and family from 11am to 1pm, Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions – Southwest, 3393 Broadway, Ohio 43123. A service to honor Chris’ life will be held at 1pm, Thursday, May 21, 2026 at the funeral home. Burial to follow services at Grove City Cemetery West.
