Clarence C. "Chuck" Fischer, age 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 1 at Parkside Village Westerville.
Chuck was born December 29, 1922 in Chicago, IL to the late Charles C. and Elsie (Preiss) Fischer.
Graduated from Roosevelt High School and served our country as a Navy Sonarman First Class during WWII.
He married Dorothy Johnson on Oct. 5, 1944 and together shared almost 72 years.
Chuck was a line-o-type operator with R.R. Donnelley & Sons for 38 years and retired to Lakeview, AR where he enjoyed 32 years of boating and fishing.
He also taught piloting and navigation for several years and was a member of the Twin Lakes and Beaver Lake Power Squadrons, as well as past Commander of the Twin Lakes Power Squadron and a member of the Bull Shoals, AR and Westerville VFW's.
Survived by loving wife, Dorothy Fischer; son, Ken (Bonnie) Fischer of Westerville; daughter, Nancy (Dave) Wearne of Falcon Heights, MN; grandchildren, Ken (Kathy) Fischer of Columbus, Kate Wearne of Oakland, CA, Laura (Eric) Quackenbush of Andover, MN; great-grandchildren, Maura, Kenny and Norah.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 10, 2016 from 1-3 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43231.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM at the funeral home.
