Cloyce "Bud" Carter, JR, owner of B & D Garage, passed away with his boots on after a short, stubborn battle with cancer. Bud was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away on Friday, March 18. He was born in Columbus on August 27, 1957 to Cloyce Carter, SR and Ellen (Frey) Carter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Kimra Robinson and father-in-law, Andrew Sefchick. Bud is survived by his wife of 36 years, Polly (Sefchick) Carter; daughter, Kellie (Dave Shiretta) Carter; sisters, Madeline (Ralph) McCallaster, Pam (Bill) Pickell; nephew and niece, Jay and Brigette Pickell and Kody Pickell who were also Bud's special caregivers; sister-in-law, Loretta Grimes, also a special caregiver; special friends, Sherri and Glen Alan Rieser as well as many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and close friends.
Bud was not a fancy dresser. He loved to go deer hunting. He was a prankster and told dirty jokes to everyone. He was a great mechanic whose shop was a safe place for everyone who knew Bud. He was the local retirement hang out for all who came in contact with him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in care of Polly Carter. Bud would want you to come as you are, there is no need to dress up.
