Clyde Arthur Bosstic, Jr., born on December 3, 1953, in Chillicothe, Ohio, passed away on November 18, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. He was a dedicated corrections officer and also worked as a nursing assistant at the Veterans Administration in Chillicothe. Clyde was a proud graduate of Chillicothe High School, where he excelled as a track runner and basketball player.
Clyde will be remembered for his generous nature and big heart. He had a vibrant personality, described as a firecracker—someone with a strong work ethic who was also slightly short-fused yet methodical in all he did. His hobbies included a love for cars, where he was particularly meticulous about detailing and cleaning them. He was a collector of cars and an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes football and basketball teams. Western movies, horses, NASCAR, and cheering on Jeff Gordon were also among his interests, especially enjoying College Football Saturdays.
Clyde created lasting memories through trips to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, moments that his family will cherish forever. His greatest pride was his family, which he loved deeply.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Teresa; his daughter, Angie Bosstic; his sons, Dustin (Kim) Bosstic, Brian (Jan) Davidson, Scott (Samantha) Davidson, and Nick (Cheryl) Davidson; and his daughters, DeeAnn (Mike) Evans. Clyde was the beloved grandfather of Ashley Eveland, Alison (Cody) Lowe, Alex Eveland, Hannah Bosstic, Miles Coyle, Tristan Coyle, Ashley Slack, Tiffany Mullins, Derrick Mullins, Mollie Davidson, Maria (Chase) Guyan, Parker Davidson, Tyleigh Davidson, Mikaeli Davidson, Nicholas Davidson, Beau Davidson, and Shane Davidson. He also had many great-grandchildren.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde A. Bosstic, Sr. and Glenola Carroll, as well as granddaughters Kimberly Bosstic, Aubrey Bosstic, and Brooke Mullins, siblings Linda, Brenda, Leonard, Michael, and Jeff have also passed. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Umphries, and many extended family members.
Visitation for Clyde will take place on December 2, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 PM, and a graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM at Green Lawn Cemetery, 1000 Greenlawn Avenue, Columbus, OH.
Clyde will be remembered for his love and dedication to those fortunate enough to know him.
