Clydine Gloria Bell, a beloved matriarch, passed away on November 29, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio, at the age of 83. Born on May 18, 1942, in Harvey, West Virginia, Clydine spent her life surrounded by the lush greenery of her cherished plants and gardens, creating a home brimming with love and warmth.

Clydine's career as a housekeeper at Grant Medical Center was marked by her dedication and kind-hearted nature. A loving wife to her husband Jimmie for an impressive 51 years, Clydine's existence revolved around her family. She was the proud mother of seven children: Debra (Melvin) Steward, Angela Adkins (Joseph) Richards, Teresa Adkins, Brian Keith (Shirley) Adkins, Jessica Bell, Jimmie Bell,Jr. and Nina (Carlos) Byrd. She also embraced the joy that came with being a grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, fostering bonds that would span generations. Her love extended to her sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, embracing them as her own. Clydine’s relationships were filled with laughter, affection, and honesty; she was known for expressing her thoughts candidly, making her both a cherished confidante and a refreshing presence in all her interactions.

The legacy of Clydine Gloria Bell will forever resonate through her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her values of kindness, generosity, and strength. She is also survived by her sister, Darlene Collins, and her brothers, Robert Brown and Ruben Julious. Many nieces, nephews, and extended family members will remember Clydine as a source of light and inspiration.

Though she is preceded in death by her parents, Julia Adkins and step-father Robert (Felicia) Brown, her brothers James Adkins, Curtis Adkins, Perry Julious, and Denver Julious, as well as her grandparents Linzey and Lucy Adkins and parents-in-law Steve Bell and Mae Francy, Clydine’s spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved and nourished.

Clydine faced numerous medical challenges throughout her life, each time emerging as a strong fighter, undeterred and filled with determination. Her greatest accomplishments were not found in accolades, but rather in the tight-knit family she cultivated with love and resilience.

Clydine was known for her feisty personality, her caring nature, and her great sense of humor. Her infectious laughter and compassionate spirit touched everyone she met, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A memorial gathering in honor of Clydine will take place on December 12, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northeast, located at 3047 E Dublin Granville Rd, Columbus, OH 43231.
