Coleman had a remarkable career that began with his service in the US Air Force as an electronics expert stationed in Greenland. He later contributed to the United States' Space Program, working on the Saturn V missile project in the late 1960s. After his time in aerospace, he made a significant impact in the financial world by pioneering the area for Primerica Financial Services and eventually becoming its Senior Vice President. Throughout his life, Coleman was known as a gentleman who was outgoing, friendly, and liking to share a good story with everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milburn and Pauline (Painter) Bryant, and his brothers Larry and Thurman.
