Cora L. Chrisman, 73, of Columbus, OH, passed away August 17, 2014 and went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born on March 10, 1941 in Breathitt, KY.
She married the late Melvin Marshall on August 10, 1960. She later married Darrel "Chris" Chrisman in 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Vicy Landrum, daughter, Denise Weese, brothers, Luther, Clay and Kelly, sister, Molly.
Surviving family includes husband, Darrel "Chris" Chrisman, daughters, Cynthia (Jim) Shaeffer, Sheri (Garry) Davis, son-in-law, Gene Weese, sisters, Georgia, Roberta, Lola, Cindy and Louise, grandchildren, Stephanie, Adam, Clinton, Austin, Jordan, Audria, Jeri, Ryan, Alex, Jessie, great-grandchildren, Emily, Will, Peyton, Faye and Melody and many nieces and nephews.
Cora was a childcare provider for 50 years and was viewed as the "adopted grandma" to many children. She served the church with her love for children by teaching Sunday School and working in the nursery at Briggs Road Baptist Church and Westgate Baptist Church. Cora retired from Macy's after 19 years of employment.
Visitation will be held from 12-2pm and 4-8pm on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. A funeral service will be held at 11am conducted by Pastor Ronald Hopkins at Briggs Road Baptist Church, 3231 Briggs Road, Columbus, OH 43204, where additional visitation will be from 10-11am.
Burial will be in McIntosh Cemetery in Clayhole, KY at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the church.
