Craig A. Carabin, 67, of Westerville, passed away on April 23, 2026.
Born on January 31, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio, Craig was the son of the late James and Virginia (Nowak) Carabin. A loving son, father, brother, and friend, Craig’s infectious sense of humor and generous spirit made a lasting impact on everyone he met.
A passionate Ohio State Football fan, Craig was never shy about showing his support for his beloved team. He had a successful and fulfilling career, retiring in 2018 from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), after having worked at both their Dayton and Columbus sites. Following his retirement, Craig dedicated his time to community endeavors, where he became involved with The Deaf Senior Citizens Community and the Columbus Association of the Deaf, building lasting friendships and making a difference in the lives of many. He was also a valued congregation member of Liberty Baptist Church Of The Deaf.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Gary Lee Carabin (2021), and his brother-in-law Lou Nadalsky (2007). He is survived by his son, Andrew; his sister-in-law and caregiver, Christina Carabin; siblings, Jamie Nadalsky, Jennifer (Dan) Wade, Chris (Keely), Cynthia Cioffari, and James (Debbie); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 8th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Road. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Dave Mason, will follow immediately at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Blendon Central Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Craig’s memory be made to Liberty Baptist Church For The Deaf, 1552 Elmore Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43224, to support the Deaf Camp fund.
Craig will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live in the hearts of those who loved him.
