Curtis Mathias

Curtis V. Mathias, 65, of Columbus, Ohio passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. He was born in Columbus on August 30, 1951 to Darrell and Lois Mathias. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve Mathias and sister, Marlyn Hamilton.


Curt is survived by his sons, Jason (Andrea) Mathias and Andrew Mathias; brothers, Jeffrey Mathias, Mark (Stephanie) Mathias and Randy (Sherry) Mathias; sisters, Shirley (Bruce) Bollinger and Krista (Jerry) LaMaster; grandchildren, Alexander, Brandon, Wyatt and Emily Mathias; as well as many nieces and nephews, friends and other family members who will feel Curt's loss deeply.

Curt served his country in the Army during the Vietnam war. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. He also loved his family and the time he spent with them.

A visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH on Friday, October 14 from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 15 beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery, 400 Winchester Cemetery Road, Canal Winchester, OH.
