Curtiss E. Mitchell Sr. ,63, of Columbus Ohio passed away peacefully in his home Sat. July 30th, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
Curtiss was born June 21, 1953 in Columbus Ohio.
He was the son of the late Ervin B. and Mary M. McNeal Mitchell.
He was employed as a truck driver for many years.
He was an avid bowler and he loved to fish.
Curtiss was a loving husband and Father.
He dedicated his life to the care of his 6 children, they were his number 1 priority.
Curtiss leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Brenda Mitchell, 6 children, Curtiss E. Mitchell Jr. (Aretha Clay), Kyndra Mitchell (Darrell Garrett), Kynneth Mitchell, Breanna Rooks, Elijah Mitchell, and Melanie Mitchell; 1 granddaughter Tanaysia Mitchell; 1 great grandson Tommy Earl Brown; 3 sisters, Anita (Carl) Fisher, Curley (Larry Viney) Mitchell, Minnie Marie Mitchell; Aunt, Betty Oakes; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Ervin and Melvin Mitchell.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 10:00-12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Tyrone Artis, officiating.
Interment will be in Deer Creek Twp. Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 5900 Wilcox Pl. Dublin, OH 43016.
