Cynthia Smyth DeMooy died at home, Sunday, February 16, 2014. Cynnie was born in New Britain, Connecticut and graduated from Hiram College.
She taught French and English at Tuslaw High School in Massillon, Ohio and retired from Jonathan Alder Middle School, Plain City, Ohio after 32 years of teaching.
She was a member of St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Lewis Center, serving on Alter Guild and a longtime member of a Bible Study Group.
Cynnie was preceded in death by parents William and Doris Smyth and twin grandchildren William and Kathleen Lively.
She is survived by husband Bob of 52 years; children, Becky Lively (Tom Price), Columbia, Tennessee and Rob (Kim) DeMooy of New Albany, OH. Grandchildren include Rachel and Emily DeMooy, Sarah Lively and Julia Price. Also survived by sister Lynda (Sam) Hornak, Wooster,OH; sister-in-law Bev Merick, Nashport,OH and other relatives and special friends.
Calling hours will be held at St. Andrew's, 7521 South Old State Road, Lewis Center, Ohio,43035, Thursday, February 20, 2014, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM and 1 hour prior to the Memorial Service on Friday, February 21, at 11:00 AM. Father Ron Baird will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew's Memorial Fund or to the charity of your choice.
Private family inurnment will be at Blendon Central Cemetery.
