D. Nancy Spindler 70 of Columbus passed on Dec. 29, 2019. She was born on Feb. 21, 1949 in Halifax, Nova Scotia to E. Merlin and Shirley B. (Bell) Knowles who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband Clyde, married 49 years, children Heather Spindler, Catherine (Robert) Doerring, Julie (Timothy) Crouse, grandsons Edward and Nolan Doerring. Siblings Donald Knowles, Robert Knowles, Shirley-Ann Bodine. She was preceded by siblings Merlene Martin and James Knowles.
Nancy was a fun-loving wife and mother who was always up for a good time with family and friends. She and Clyde were known for hosting a New Year's Day party for many years. Clyde and Nancy moved their family from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Columbus, Ohio in 1980. She was known for her faithfulness to the Lord, seeking His guidance in any situation. Nancy was a teacher at North Spring Christian Academy until she retired in 2014. In the years following, she continued to be a faithful servant of her Lord, attending church and praying for those around her.
Nancy was a devoted school teacher for more than 40 years. She loved her students and was honored to be able to say she had taught more than one generation of some families - including her own daughters and grandsons.
She will be missed by all of her family and friends.
There will be a private graveside service at Blendon Central Cemetery. The family was assisted by the Newcomer NE Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the North Spring Christian Academy 425 North Spring Road Westerville, OH 43082.
