Dale Wooden

Dale F. Wooden, 72, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 in Columbus, Ohio. Dale was born on January 22, 1953 in Columbus, OH to Eugene Ferrell and Bertha (Hinkle).

Dale is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Rayburn Ferrell, and sister Rita Ferrell.

She is survived by her children, Valerie Varney, Emzy "Bud" (Jodie) Varney, Sherry Marie (Jason) Leimgruber, Wesley Wooden, grandchildren, Angie, Breezie, James, Miranda, Delrina, Andrew, Chad, Emzy Jr., Jordan, Wesley Jr., Jackson, and Jonathan, 16 great-grandkids, and 2 great- great-grandkids. She is also survived by her brother Tennis Ferrell, and sister Cookie Cunningham. She had numerous adoptive grandchildren. She was a lover of all people and animals.

She was a home health aid for 12 years. Most of her life was spent at home raising her children and grandchildren.

She was an avid doll collector and movie buff. She enjoyed reading, swimming, and horseback riding. She loved playing games on her phone.She loved the arts, mostly coloring with kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She loved her family so much, most of all her animals, Gizmo, Sweets, Buddy, and Pumpkin.

She was the family chef, most loved her chicken 'n dumplings and veggie soup.

She will be dearly missed by many and loved by all.

Family will receive friends on February 6, 2026, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231. A funeral service will be held on February 6, 2026, at 12:00pm also at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Northlawn Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to in Dale's honor.
