Daniel Lee Hill

Daniel Lee Hill, 45, of Mt. Sterling, passed away on August 19, 2026. He was born in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late Eddie Lane and Sheila (Gillespie) Hill, Sr.

Those left to cherish Daniel’s memory include his children, Josiah (12), Madelyn (12), and Alanah (11); his sibling, Eddie L. Jr. (Jennette Hill); and the many family members, friends, and cousins whose lives he touched.

Daniel had a simple philosophy when it came to work: careers were for the unimaginative when there was a good time to be had. His last employer was Anderson Concrete, where he worked as a driver until he was no longer able to do so.

Daniel lived his life for his children, hunting, fishing, and his friends. He loved nothing more than spending time around his camper, telling jokes, reminiscing about old times, and making new memories. Dan—the man, as he was known—was loyal to a fault. He had a kindness that was unmatched, a way of making the people he met feel like family, and a heart bigger than any ocean.

Daniel was also a connoisseur of partying (wink), women, and a good time. He lived life his way, on his terms, and never seemed too concerned about what anyone else thought. And because of the life he lived, those who knew him will forever have a funny story, a wild memory, or a moment that brings a smile to their face when they think of him.

Although our Daniel had a less-than-average life span, he certainly did not live an average life. He lived fully, loved deeply, and left his mark on the people fortunate enough to know him. Whether you knew Daniel for 30 years, 30 days, or somewhere in between, if he touched your life in any way, you are part of the memories he leaves behind.

A service to honor Daniel’s life will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Newcomer Southwest in Grove City
