Daniel Alan Longerbone

Daniel Alan "Dan" Longerbone, 50, of Hilliard, Ohio passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at his residence.

Born on November 4, 1975, in Columbus, Ohio to James H. Longerbone and Ann M. (Blair) Schmidt, Dan is also survived by his brother Mark (Marie) Longerbone; sister, Elizabeth Longerbone; and step-brother, Theo (Cathie) Schmidt. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Rose Mary Longerbone.

In his free time, Dan was a trained weather spotter, a member of the Renegade Hash House Harriers Running Club, and an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Clemson Tigers. Dan was well known for his quick wit and many enjoyed his colorful stories about work and life in general.

Dan was especially fond of his nieces and nephews, and his kitties Derp and Bianca.

Dan will be truly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. We will take comfort in the memories that remain.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00 to 4:00pm on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Homes - Southwest Chapel (3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123). A funeral service will immediately follow at 4:00pm in the funeral home, with Pastor Theresa Wallington-Tipton officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Carmel College of Nursing (127 S Davis Ave, Columbus, OH 43222).
