David “Dave” Bradley Reed

June 16, 1961 – August 11, 2025

If you knew David Bradley Reed, “Dave” to most, “Dad” to his lucky four kids, and “the funniest guy in the room” to just about everyone else. You knew a man who could make you laugh so hard your cheeks hurt, and then turn around and be the most loyal, kindhearted soul in your life.

Dave was born in Moundsville, West Virginia, and grew up with small-town values and a big smile. He later moved between Ohio and Florida, making jokes and memories everywhere he went. He spent most of his working life with Command Heating and Cooling and Stanley Steemer, where he put in the kind of hard work you don’t see much anymore . All with that signature grin.

Dave’s greatest love was for his wife, Linda Reed, and his children: Davie Reed (Michelle), Amanda Davisson (Joshua Bowers), Cody O’Dell (Brittany), and Madison Reed (Seth Sager). But nothing lit him up more than being “Papaw” to his grandkids — especially his oldest, Mikha, who had a special bond with him. Each grandchild was his pride and joy, and he never missed a chance to spoil them, brag about them, or make them laugh until their sides hurt.

He was also a die-hard fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Dodgers, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Often managing to watch all three in one day.

Dave lived by one simple motto: “It is what it is…”

He leaves behind not just his family, but a legacy of quick wit, big laughs, and a heart that never ran out of room for others.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, the 22nd from 4-8. This will be held at the American Legion, 3253 S High St, Columbus, OH 43207-3622, United States. Please come ready to share your best “Dave story” and don’t be surprised if you hear a few that make you laugh until you cry.

In true Dave fashion, we’re not saying goodbye… just “see ya later.”
