David Lee Barnhart

David Lee Barnhart, age 84 passed away on September 16, 2026. He was born on January 23, 1942 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late James Barnhart and Lillian (Smith) Barnhart. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, James Barnhart Jr., Mary Payne, Charles Barnhart, William “Bill” Payne, Gary Barnhart, and Gloria Jean Rantz. He is survived by his wife whom he married on March 14, 1969, Nayoma (Shackleford) Barnhart; son, David J. Barnhart; grandson, Kymani Barnhart; sister, Vivian Rider.

David retired from the Columbus Steel Drum after 27 years of faithful service. He attended Chillicothe High School. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. David enjoyed being outside in nature. He was also a member of the Whitehall United Methodist Church.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at 1:00pm at Greenlawn Cemetery, 643 Eastern Ave, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
