David T. Caldwell, age 95, passed away Friday, May 25, 2018. He was born on April 25, 1923 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late David T. and Helen Caldwell (Diefel).
David is a veteran of the US Army Air Force having served in WWII as a tail gunner in a B-24 while stationed in the Philippines. He later went on to work in the grocery business for over 70 years, retiring at age 80 and was an avid Buckeye football fan.
Preceded in death by his wife, who he married on June 18, 1949, Dorothy Ohlendorf and sister, Mary Laughlin.
Surviving family includes children, Cindi Caldwell (Frank) McEldowney, Linda Caldwell (Bob) Lambrecht, Kathy Caldwell and David W. Caldwell; grandchildren, Jason Mandish, Daniel (Kelly) McEldowney, Katherine (Mike) Horgan, Stefan (Kristie) Mandish, Jeffrey (Hannah) Ogle, Troy Lambrecht, Jaclyn Geroux and 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 5-7pm at Linworth Baptist Church, 6200 Linworth Rd., Worthington, OH 43085.
Funeral service will be held on Friday June 1, 2018 at 11am at the church, where visitation will be held from 10-11am.
Interment to follow at Union Cemetery, Columbus, OH.
