David E. Ward, 84, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, in Sunbury, Ohio. David was born on July 17, 1942, to Earl E. Ward and Fern B. Cady.
David is preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia E. Ward, his parents, and his sister Claudia Ward.
He is survived by daughters, Denise (Charles) Thompson, Deborah Baker, Donna (Mike) Williams, grandchildren Charles (Christina), David (Melissa), Kristen (Matt), Nicholas (Megan), Leann (Chad), Sean (Kayln), and Kevin (Megan), 21 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. David was surrounded by many friends and special neighbors.
He'll be missed most by his dog, Candy.
The family would like to send a special Thank You to Sylvia.
He was an Air Force veteran. Just recently, he got to enjoy the Honor Flight.
Family will receive friends on August 24, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231. Family will also receive friends on August 25, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am A funeral service will be held immediately following, also at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Columbus Northeast Chapel. He will be laid to rest at Northlawn Memory Gardens.
