David Robinson Frost III passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017. He was born in St. Paul, MN on September 11, 1946. He was a graduate of The Julliard School of Music and remained in New York for 20 years, performing and acting as orchestra librarian for The American Composers' Orchestra, The Orchestra of New York, several New York ballet orchestras, The New York Philharmonic, and The Brooklyn Philharmonic where he has actively maintained his tenure as percussionist for the past 35 seasons.
In 1988 David moved to Columbus with his family to assume the position of Principal Librarian with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. Over the past 28 years, he has created over 100 arrangements and composed new works as part of his duties with the Orchestra.
David is preceded in death by his parents, David and Marguerite Frost. David is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Susan; daughter Laurel (Joseph) Coffey; son, Robin Frost; grandchildren, Ethan, Wyatt, and Amelia; sister, Judith Frost, and his loving family in Connecticut and Minnesota. He was loved and respected by many and will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, April 15, 2017 at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 30 W. Woodruff Ave, Columbus, OH 43210.
A gathering will take place in the parish hall following the service.
