David J. Hohman, affectionately known as "June Bug," was born on January 10, 2001, in Columbus, Ohio. He unexpectedly passed away on August 28, 2025. David was a kind and gentle soul who brought light to those around him. He was the kind of person whose warmth and laughter filled any room. Those who knew him would attest that he was the sweetest soul you could encounter and that he had an extraordinary ability to care for others, especially as a protective big brother.
David was a proud member of the Central Crossing High School class of 2020 and had enjoyed working at Meijer in London-Groveport, where he was in line for an apprenticeship in the butcher and meat department. His passion for his work was evident, and he was building a future that he was excited about.
In his free time, David loved many activities. He had a deep affection for anime and cherished his memories of attending Renaissance festivals, where he would enthusiastically make his own costumes, including an adorable outfits for his beloved fur child, Boots. David was also a gifted gamer, demonstrating a natural talent with computers, which he enjoyed thoroughly. He had a special bond with his dad over motorcycles, and he particularly loved his mom's cooking.
David is survived by his father, David Wayne Hohman; his mother, Mary E (Richard) Frohnauer-Porter; his sisters, Sarah (Joel) Davis and Paiton Porter; his brother, Gary (Ashley) Frohnauer; his nephews; Jackson and Carter Davis, and Jace Frohnauer; his nieces, Jaida and Scarlett Frohnauer; and his beloved fur child, Boots Hohman.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Katie Frohnauer; his grandfathers, Francis J. Hohman and Anthony Frohnauer; and his grandmothers, Wilma Hohman and Mary E. Frohnauer.
David's funeral services will be held on September 6, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by the funeral service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
David J. Hohman will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
