David Jenkins

David Jenkins, age 64, born November 8, 1951 passed from this life to his eternal reward on October 17, 2016. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Columbus to Edgar and Edith Jenkins. He is preceded in death by his parents; young son Travis; brother, Jessie and sister, Beverly.
David is survived by his wife of 47 years, Hope Jenkins; son, Johnny (Tammy); daughter, Misty; granddaughters, Ashley, Brittney and Shelby; grandsons, Zackery and John (Adam); great-grandchildren, Johnny (Matthew), and Jeremiah; brothers, Cecil and Jerry (Cathy); sister, Brenda (Vaughn). David's loss will be felt by many other friends, family members and church family too numerous to name.
David was the owner of Jenkins Construction Company, a Pro Stock racer for IHRA for many years and a car enthusiast. First and foremost David was a Christian who loved the Lord. David loved his family, was an extremely hard worker. He was a wonderful father who instilled all of his values of hard work and love for the Lord in his children.
David was a member of Mount Sterling Freewill Baptist, Pastor Denzel Wright, for many years. He was active in his church. He built churches and loved to sing for the Lord.

A visitation will be held at Southwest Freewill Baptist Church, 1542 Greenleaf Road, Columbus, OH 43223 on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Greg Ball officiating. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Cemetery immediately afterward with Pastor John Meade officiating.
