David R. Richards, 79, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Dave was born in Cambridge, OH on July 29, 1938, to the late John and Margaret (Sonnefeld) Richards and is also preceded in death by his brother and wife, John and Phyllis Richards and sister, Mary Ann Holcomb.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie (Plummer) Richards; sons, Tim Richards, Roger (Karen) Richards and Paul (Connie) Richards; grandchildren, Jessica (Zach) Schneider, Collin, Ian, Hanna, Sarah, Emily and Leah Richards; great-granddaughter, Lily Schneider; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Tom Marquart; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Dave was a 1956 graduate of St. Benedict's High School in Cambridge, OH, served proudly in the US Navy aboard the USS Bennington, was an avid boater, retired from the Robbins Beverage Group and never met a stranger.
Family and friends will gather on Sunday, August 13, 2017, 2-5 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Memorial Service at 5:00 PM.
