David Lee "Pappy" Turnbaugh, 60, of Columbus, OH went home with the Lord June 7, 2020.
He was born February 3, 1960 in Cambridge, OH to Charles Robert Turnbaugh and Mary Ruth Simms.
He followed in his father's footsteps and became a carpenter. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle and trusted friend. He was an animal lover, talented tradesman and was known to have a green thumb.
He loved to travel the country with his wife, daughters, son-in-laws, nieces, nephews and neighborhood friends. He was lovingly known as pappy, not only to his wife but the many young men he mentored and passed his trade on to.
His hobbies were limitless to name a few, reptile rescues, breeding fish, hunting with his dad, canoeing, spending time with his grandchildren and playing video games.
As a true animal lover, he called his pet squirrel to his shoulder from a tree and sometimes a snake would peek through his beard. He was greatly loved and adopted as dad by many, he also found joy in helping raise his nieces Adena and Asia.
David was survived by his wife Cathy, daughters Mandy (Michael), Lisa (Jeremy), Abby (Heath and Courtney), Genie (Bob), Samantha (Mikey), grandchildren Michael, Logan, Jordan, Faith, Hannah, Lamia, Sadie, Sky, Athena, Ashton, Hayden, Jeremy, David, Jessica, Zoe, Katelyn, Bobbie, Harley, Alexis, Bubutt, Alaysia, Pooter, Mikey, Rooty, great-grandchildren Dreden, Rayana, siblings Nancy, Darla, Sue, Rose, Chuck, Jerry, Sandy, Rusty, Linda along with many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents Mary Ruth Simms and Charles Robert Turnbaugh, grandchildren Shane Sadler, Angel Melton.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Newcomer Funeral Home - NE Chapel with a funeral service immediately following.
