David "Woody" Woods, age 58, of Grove City, Ohio, left us peacefully on May 15, 2025. Born on June 4, 1966, in Columbus, Ohio, he was a beloved son of David F. Woods and the late Anna B. (Konkler) Woods Djupstrom. Woody's vibrant spirit and infectious energy touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Preceding him in death were his cherished wife, Tamara Price, and his brother-in-law, Mike Byers. He also reunites in memory with his treasured grandparents, John D. and Nora Woods, and Harold and Virginia Konkler, as well as his immediate cousins, Scott and Amanda James. Woody's absence is felt deeply not just by those he has left behind but by those whose lives he enriched.
Woody is lovingly survived by his children: Brittany, JD, Ashlin, Alexis, and Krystal. Each one of them carries a piece of his legacy forward. He was also the proud grandfather of Callum, who brought immense joy and light into his life. His siblings, Heath (Kristina Cottone) Woods, Tina Byers, and Krista (Seth) Turner, hold dear the memories they created together. His sister-in-law, Amberly (Dennis) Ku, along with his nieces and nephews—Kristopher, Danyelle (Scott Popplewell), Catie (Hank), Teresa (Chris), Hannah, Carlos, Katie (Marge), Sarah (Amy), Preston (Lauren Banko), Cady, Nate, Cora—and great-nephews, KJ and Kyler, will forever cherish their time spent with him.
Woody had a passion for life that was simply unmatched. An avid fisherman, he relished those tranquil moments on the water, rod in hand, always hopeful for the next big catch. Whether it was golfing, throwing a legendary fish fry, or simply being the life of the party, his laughter and enthusiasm for fun resonated with everyone around him. He had a special love for camping, creating lasting memories under the stars with family and friends. He was a proud Ohio State Buckeye's, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cincinnati Reds fan. He hated the team up North.
Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Woody's life on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Newcomer SW Chapel, located at 3393 Broadway Grove City, Ohio 43123. Calling hours will be held from 4 PM to 6 PM, followed by a service celebrating his incredible life beginning at 6 PM. In a tribute to Woody’s spirit, his family kindly requests that everyone wears their best Ohio State clothing to pay homage to the energetic man they all loved so dearly.
Woody's warmth, laughter, and zest for life will be forever cherished. Though he has left this world, his spirit lives on in the hearts of his loved ones, and he will continue to inspire all who carry his memory.
