Delbert Cooper, 87, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at his home in Columbus, OH. Del was born in 1927 in Portsmouth, OH to Delbert Sr. and Hazel Cooper.

Del is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Irene, Helen, Stella, William, Jackie, Lester, and David.

He is survived by wife of 40 years, Doris; children, Connie (Fred) Ward, Dale (Esther) Cooper, Ronald Ballard II, and Steven (Angela) Ballard; grandchildren, Nathan, Kevin, and Jennifer Ward, Stephanie Myers, David Cooper, Meghan Shaklein and Grace Ballard; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Oscar, Glenn, and Gary; and many other loving family members and friends.

Del graduated from Mifflin High School and went on to serve for four years in the NAVY during WWII. After he was discharged, he attended Defiance College in Defiance, OH. He received his pilot's license in 1965, and was a small plane pilot for many years. He was the owner of CPP Inc., a plumbing and excavating company.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 21, 2014 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231 followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00pm.
