Denise Montemarano

Denise Montemarano, age 63, passed away peacefully at her home in Marengo, Ohio, on January 27, 2026, surrounded by family.

Born in Alcoy, Spain, Denise carried a deep appreciation for warmth, light, and beauty throughout her life. She was the beloved daughter of Lynn Champney, who survives her, and Ursula Champney, who preceded her in death.

Denise was a woman of strong faith whose life was rooted in love, compassion, and nurturing care for others. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and mamaw. She is survived by her loving husband, Adam Montemarano; her son Clint (Laura) Keenan; her daughter Mandrea (Jake) Ross; step-children Adam (Miranda) Montemarano, Rachael (Dave) Martin, and Angela Montemarano; her brothers Brandon Champney and Craig (Sherri) Champney; her sister Megan Champney; and her cherished grandchildren, Remington, Elie, Rocco, Letty, and JR; along with her step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Luke, Russel (Grace), Ava, Frankie, Theo, Alec (Allie), Toby, Maddie, Miles, Ella, Kilee, Wes, Maria, and Brooklyn, along with her nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

Denise found joy in the simple, beautiful things—soaking up the sun, watching birds, and being surrounded by family. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Though the world feels a little dimmer without her here, we trust that heaven gained a beautiful light. Denise’s legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with her faith, warmth, and unconditional love.

Services will be held at the Northland Church of Christ (4581 Cleveland Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43231) on February 14, 2026. Visiting hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a short service beginning at 12:00 p.m. A luncheon will follow.

If sending flowers, please have them delivered to Northland Church of Christ on February 13, 2026, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., or on February 14, 2026, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
