Derek L. Williams

January 12, 1958 — January 19, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of Derek L. Williams announces his passing on January 19, 2019 at the age of 61 at The Ohio State University Hospital after a long battle with liver disease.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles N. and Kathryn D. Williams, his brother Dean Williams and sister-in-law Vickie J. Williams, and his nephew Gabriel Williams. He is survived by his brother, David S. Williams (Lisabeth), his sisters, Debra S. Lake (Larry) and Dee A. Williams (John). Also, his nephews and nieces, John C. Williams (Heather), Mitchell Williams, Andrew Lake, Deania J Russo (Phillip), Michelle Muto (Andrew), Seth Williams (Kim), Naomi Harper (David) also great nieces, Alayna and Hanna Muto and great nephews, Boone Russo, Carson Williams, Spencer Williams, and Gabriel Williams. He had many good friends, Ami Howell and her son Eli (who Derek called Elroy), Diane Kent, Waynette Tackett, Don and Kay Tackett, Scott Frank, and many more. And his beloved cat Ariel.

Derek was a member of Grace Wesleyan Church, a volunteer in many community events, always willing to lend a helping hand.

Derek is a military veteran of the Marine Corp and a retired truck driver.

A celebration of life will take place at Grace Wesleyan Church with Pastor Anthony Payton officiating, 505 Pine Street, Zanesville, Ohio, Thursday, January 24, 2019. 5:30 pm.
