Donald R. Claffey

July 26, 1934 — April 4, 2017

Donald Raymond Claffey, age 82, passed away peacefully at Mount Carmel East Hospital, April 4, 2017.

Donald was a member of Wildermuth Memorial Church, of Carroll, and was a Navy Veteran.

Donald was an avid bicycle and motorcycle rider and loved his four cats and his dog, Gus.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Relva Sharp Claffey.

He was born on July 26, 1934 in Lancaster, Ohio.

Donald is survived by his wife, Mabel Claffey, married for 48 years; his two sons, Mark (Michelle) Claffey and Doug Claffey; brother, Larry (Betty) Claffey; granddaughter, Morgan Cottrill; and his nephew, Randy (Darla) Claffey; nieces, Kim (Brian) Friesner and Kristi (Pete) Heuerman.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 12:00 p.m., where visitation will be held 2 hours prior to service. Burial will follow at Carroll Cemetery.

Friends wishing to make a memorial contribution in Donald's name can donate to their local chapter of the American Heart Association or their local Humane Society.
