Donald Harold Walton, 83, of Columbus, went to be with Jesus May 30, 2018 in Marysville, Ohio.
Donald was born April 30, 1935 in New Albany, Ohio to Roy and Elizabeth (Pickens) Walton.
He graduated from New Albany High School in 1953 where he played on the football team. Donald served for over 6 years in the Army Reserve Railroad Unit and reached the rank of SP-6. He was a member of Northeast Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and Song Leader. Donald worked at Timken Roller Bearing Company for over 32 years. He also was an associate at H&R Block for 18 years. Donald was an Ohio State fan since 1945 and also cheered for the Cleveland Indians and the Browns and as of 2018 a Minnesota Golden Gophers Fan.
He was married to Barbara (Simon) for 58 years.
Donald will be deeply missed by his wife; daughters Elisa (L.J. Harris) Walton, and Lana (T.R.) Rush; grandchildren Matthew (Amy) Farr, Ryleigh Rush and Thomas Rush; sister Helen King and sister-in-law Carole Walton along with many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his brothers Roy Jr., Raymond, Cecil, Paul and Robert.
Visitation will be Monday, June 11, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home NE 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 11am at the funeral home.
Private Family burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
