Donna J. Vawters (Wheeler) age 81 of Dublin, OH passed away June 18, 2015 at Country View of Sunbury in Sunbury, OH.
Donna was born on April 15, 1934 in Columbus, OH to Thurman Wheeler of KY and Alice (Holmes) Wheeler-Strawser of OH. She is survived by her loving husband William Vawters of 62 years and her brothers Tom and Mike Strawser. Also survived and lovingly remembered by her daughters Kathy Baker, Dublin OH, Linda (Lee) Van Syckle, Algonquin, IL, Kim (John) Brown, Columbus, OH, Kerri Vawters, Reynoldsburg, OH, Brenda Vawters, Dublin OH, 14 grandchildren and 19 great- grandchildren and several nephews and nieces and many friends.
Donna made many friends during her career at Shoe Corporation of America, the State of Ohio and Sears where she retired in 1996. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Grove City. She also enjoyed meeting with her Red Hat Society ladies. Above all her faith and family were the most important things in her life.
Visitation will be on Monday June 22nd from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 23rd at 10 AM at the Funeral Home, followed by burial service at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, 3225 Dublin Rd., Hilliard, OH. Donations may be made in Donna's memory to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org/centralohio.
