Donnette Eugenia Bower

Donnette E. Kern-Bower, of Lancaster, Ohio was born July 27, 1947 in Circleville, Ohio to Donald and Geraldine Kern. Donnette went to be with her Lord and Savior on, Tuesday, April 7th 2026.

Donnette graduated from Nelsonville High school in 1965.

While in high school she enjoyed the marching band and being a cheerleader. Another memory she spoke of was tap dancing with her sisters. She was employed primarily secretarial and administrative roles just about everywhere she worked. But her favorite place was in The Student Union at The Ohio State University where she worked in many different offices and loved working with the students. She moved to Florida for 20 years and enjoyed having her own home. In 2020, Donnette came back to Lancaster, Ohio to live with her daughter, Kim, when her illness of dementia was diagnosed. Donnette lived a fun adventurous life, prior to her illness. And she enjoyed studying her Bible and attending church with Kim and Greg.

Preceded in death her son Kevin Ogg, parents Donald Kern and Geraldine Christopher-Neer.

Donnette is survived by her Daughter Kim (Greg) Long of Lancaster, Ohio, her son Brian Ogg of Reno, Nevada, grandson Justin Long, her sisters Shirle Briggs, Diane Everage, Melanie and Jodi Kern, Cindy Dillinger, Ted and Andy Covert her step siblings and many nieces and nephews. And a very dear friend Suzanne Powers.

Her fun-loving spirit will be missed along with her contagious laugh. But we know she’s enjoying heaven and we will see her again. Until then rest in heaven.

Immediate family will greet friends and family from 10am to 12pm, Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions – Southwest, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123. A service to honor Donnette’s life will be held at 12pm, Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Newcomer Grove City, Pastor Timothy Knipp officiating. Burial to occur at 1:30pm, Tuesday, in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 351 Coonpath Road Northeast, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
