Doris Pauline Dill, 87, of Columbus, OH went to be with the Lord Thursday December 5, 2013 at Willowbrook Nursing Home. She was born on September 21, 1926 in Youngwood, PA.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Dewitt and Lela Dillon; and brother, Melvin Dillon.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Fred J. Dill; sons, Dennis (Sharon) Dill and Donald (Crystal) Dill; grandson, Brian Dill; granddaughters, Christina (Eddie) Soto, Cynthia (Robert) Slingsby, and Chelynn Dill; and 11 great grandchildren.
Doris has been a faithful and joyful servant of the Lord.
She enjoyed flowers and gardening. She always produced an abundance of tomatoes for the kids to sell in the front yard. She loved playing games: Dukes of Hazzard was a remembered favorite with the grandkids. She loved her pets, both domestic and wild. Her cooking was always desired: homemade yeast dinner rolls and her Christmas cookies were just a couple of the family favorites.
Doris was claimed as a "wife, mother, aunt, sister, grandma, and best friend" to the many who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.
Visitation for Doris will be on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 4-6pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, OH 43231, followed by funeral services at 6:00pm. Entombment will be on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 1:00pm at Kingwood Memorial Park, 8230 Columbus Pike Lewis Center, OH 43035.
