Doris M. Bare

Doris M. Bare, 84, of Grove City, OH, passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2014 after a brave 11 year battle with cancer. She was born on June 24, 1929. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Pat and her oldest son John May. Surviving family includes loving husband of 57 years, James, sister June, daughter Doris (Mike) Pierce, son David and fiance Melinda, daughter-in-law Peachie May, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and spouses, 28 great-grandchildren and spouses, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was a bookkeeper for many years at Clark Grave Vault Company. Doris was also an avid baker and was known as "The Cookie Lady" at the James Cancer Center.

Visitation will be held from 6-8pm, Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH.

A funeral service will be held at 10am, Friday, June 20, 2014 at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the James Cancer Center or Mt. Carmel Hospice in her honor.
