Dorothy Lazar Sheridan, 79, of Columbus died peacefully in her sleep on May 14, 2015 at Franklin Woods Health Care Center in Columbus. The family would like to thank the staff and management at Franklin Woods for providing excellent care and comfort to her during her stay. Born August 12, 1935 in Creencille County, SC, she is predeceased by her parents, Nell Weaver and John Lazar of SC, and here sister, Ruth Stokes of Greer, SC.
Dorothy was a loving mother and grandmother who was living the remainder of her years in Ohio after many years of living in the sunshine of Florida.
Left to celebrate her life include her six children, Anthony Vaughan, Holly A. Vaughan, Phillip Vaughan, and Gregory Vaughan of Columbus, Felisa Choi Lewis and Stephen Vaughan of Florida, her brother Edward Lazar of South Carolina, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a host of friends and extended family including her beloved Boston Terrier "Biscuit".
There will not be a home-coming service. Dorothy's last wishes, as in her final years were to remain private. Her ashes are to be sprinkled in the mountains of North Carolina. Her final prayer to her children was "May God keep all of you in the Palm of His hands".
In lieu of flowers, her wishes were to have friends and family make a donation to their local Animal Shelter. Newcomer Funeral Home SW of Grove City handled all of the arrangements.
