Dorothy Jane Garvin

Dorothy "Dottie" Garvin, age 79, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 15, 2017. She was born on June 20, 1937 in Columbus, OH.
She was an employee of Rite Rug Flooring Company and went on to finish her career at Ohio State University Hospital. Her passion in life was dancing, which led her to become a dance instructor at Arthur Murray Studio.
Surviving family includes children, Doreen Needham, Jacalyn Slemmer, Bob (Kim) Garvin and Kym Garvin; grandchildren, Brooke (Carl) Needham, Joshua (Lindsey) Needham, Whitney (Aaron) Hindy, Zachary (Holli) Garvin, Ashleigh Slemmer, Taylor Slemmer and Kaden Garvin; great-grandchildren, Carl Manchester Jr., Gabriel Hindy, Madalynn Hindy and Sebastian Garvin; siblings, Nancy Porschart, Joseph (Serena) Porschart, Johnny Porschart.
Preceded in death by parents, Joseph E. and Clara E. Porschart.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 2-6 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123.
Funeral service will be held Monday, March 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment to follow at Jefferson Twp. Cemetery, Blacklick, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to your favorite charity.
