Dorothy Jean Haymond

Dorothy Jean Haymond, born on July 4, 1933, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on March 1, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to her family and community.

Dorothy graduated from Central High School in 1951 and dedicated many years of her life to her career. She retired from Mt. Carmel West in 1995 and continued working at My Old World Bakery from 2000 to 2020. Throughout her life, she was actively involved in her church, serving as a long-time member of Brown Road Community Church where she taught Sunday School, and later attending Grove City Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her children, Marie "Susie" (Keith) Severt, Jackie (John) Yinger, Chuck (Jennifer) Haymond, Becky (Ron) Hayman, and Sherri (Bob) Bethel. Dorothy was a proud grandmother to her grandchildren, Cheryl (Mike), Amanda, Brittany (Brian), Crystal, and Todd (Jennifer). Her great-grandchildren, Austin, Matthew, Carter, Milo, Maddie, and Raelynn brought her immense joy. She cherished her many nieces, nephews, friends, and adored fur-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Percy "Perk" Haymond, her parents, Charles and Goldie Smith, and her sisters, Patty, Margaret, and Susan.

The family greatly appreciates the dedication and care that Dorothy received at Hoover Haus. She will be greatly missed by her family and everyone who knew her.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest in Grove City, Ohio, on March 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
