Groveport

Listen to Obituary

Dorothy Jane Huffines, born on October 21, 1927, in Covington, Kentucky went home to be with Jesus on October 13, 2025. She passed peacefully at her home in Groveport, Ohio where her daughters, Judy and Lula, granddaughters, Melissa and Dawn, and great granddaughter, Rachel were blessed to care for her in her final days.

Dorothy spent her early years in Kings Mill, Ohio and moved to the Mason area where she started her own family. She eventually settled in Groveport where her and her husband, Lewie (who she won over with her quick wit when they both worked for GM), spent their retired years traveling the US in their RV. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord. She was the proud mother of seven children, the cherished grandmother of 17, great-grandmother of 29, and great-great-grandmother of 24. Her love stretched across generations, and her joy for life could fill any room she entered. Dorothy was a faithful member of the Lockbourne CCCU for many years, where she lovingly became known as “The Hat Lady”. A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Dorothy lived every day with a heart full of gratitude and a smile that reflected her trust in God’s promises. She found her greatest happiness in her family and her walk with the Lord. She taught those around her the importance of love, kindness, and faith — not just through words, but through the way she lived her life.”.

Dorothy is proceeded in death by her parents, George and Edith Glackin; husband, Lewis Huffines; siblings Everett Glackin, Jean Pressler, Hilda Yeazel; children Jerry Neeley, Suzie Griffith, Donnie Neeley; grandchildren Kevin, Richard, Michael, and Christina. She is survived by her children Russel (Grace) Neeley, Judy Bell, Elger Neeley, Lula Baker, and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy’s memory will live on in the laughter of her family, the lessons she shared, and the faith she inspired in everyone blessed to know her.
