Dorothy Juanita Acker went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2014. Dorothy was born in Mansfield, Arkansas in October 4, 1928 to the parents William and Cordia Searl. She moved to California at the age of seventeen and lived there until 2002, when she came to Columbus, Ohio, to be with her daughter and family. She is preceded in death by her first husband Leroy Butner, second spouse Aubrey Acker, brother Alton Searl, son Leon Butner, baby son James Butner, and granddaughters Michelle Brookover and Amie Jackson. She is survived by her daughters Juanita Sue Speakman and husband Mike, and Phyllis Elaine Marley and husband Larry. Surviving grandchildren are Richard Brookover, Kevin Brookover and Lisa, Phillip Jackson, Trever Zellers, James and Francis Butner, great grandchildren are Jessica, Shelby, Justin, Branden, Freedom, Ben and Thomas, great great granddaughters are Lily and Savannah. A special thanks to the staff at Monterey Care Center, who made the last years of Dorothy's life a pleasant experience. Dorothy was a special lady with a tremendous sense of humor. The world is a better place for having her in it, and with her passing we all hang our heads in sadness.

Funeral service on Thursday at the funeral home at 1pm with Rev. William Snider, Sr officiating.
Burial to follow at Obetz Cemetery.
