Dottie Belcher Gugel

Dorothy Marie Perry Belcher-Gugel, age 88 of Columbus, OH, passed away on May 24, 2025. She was born September 10, 1936 to the late Oscar and Victoria (Marcum) Perry in Omar, WV. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first love Harvie C Belcher of 25 years, her second love Bill Gugel of 33 years, son-in-law Chuck Price, grandson Charles Clinton Price, granddaughter Erin "Nikki" Price, nephew Oscar Ivory Burnett. Dorothy is survived by daughter Gloria "Jeannie" Price, great granddaughter Saige Michal Thornton, sisters Janet (Ray) Dozier and Joyce (George) Messinger, brother Oscar Jr (Gail) Perry, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews, furry friends T.C. The "Streetsmart" cat, Tickle "Puppybutter"

Throughout life she had many carriers from store clerk to bank teller to financial account for a prominent CPA firm.

She was a member of the William Road Freewill Baptist Church for 60 years, later regularly attended Heritage Free Will Baptist Church.

She was a big believer in giving back, from helping family members, to volunteering at the local religious radio station WCVO 104.9 The River, and local food pantries, where she recruited her daughter, sister and sister-in-law to volunteer as well. Dorothy started a teen group and gained two preacher "boys" out of it.

She loved to travel with her family, where upwards of 25 members went. She traveled to the Holy lands and took numerous cruises.

Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH on Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Funeral service on Monday at the funeral home at 10:00am with Pastor Tim Stout officiating. Burial to follow at Obetz Cemetery, Obetz, OH.
