Douglass Wayne Stout

July 25, 1970 — May 22, 2025

New Albany

Douglass Wayne Stout, affectionately known as Doug, left us unexpectedly on May 22, 2025, at the age of 54. Born on July 25, 1970, Doug was a devoted son, brother, father, and friend whose spirit will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Doug was the spirited embodiment of fun and laughter, famously known as the funniest person in the entire world. He had a heart as big as his sweet tooth and a laugh that could brighten anyone's day. A friend to everyone, he was goofy and high-strung yet always incredibly thoughtful, ensuring no one ever felt left out at any gathering. Doug believed in the power of a good time and seemed to carry joy with him wherever he went, often accompanied by his yearly Christmas cards that surely made everyone smile.

A proud Army veteran, Doug served his country with honor and received an Army Achievement Medal, a testament to his dedication and hard work. He was as proud of his military service as he was of his family, particularly his children and grandchildren. Doug’s pride in his kids Bristol, Tanner, Paige, and Spenser, along with his grandkids, Jordan, Avery, and Sydney, was unmistakable. He was a supportive dad, always rooting them on as they pursued their dreams. In Doug's eyes, they were his greatest accomplishments.

His passions were as diverse as his sense of humor. A die-hard Buckeye and Bears fan, he loved cheering for his teams just as much as he loved indulging in a good cocktail that tasted like a sweet milkshake. Doug could often be found jogging every day, working out, and just keeping up with his health. He enjoyed reading, loved Star Wars, and was a huge fan of Olivia Newton John.

Doug is survived by his loving family: his parents, James and Karen Stout; his children, Bristol (Will) Stout, Tanner (Lauren) Stout, Paige (Brad) Wheeler, and Spenser (Jeff) Foust; his sisters, Vickie and Christy; his niece, Candace Webster; his life partner, Angi Orders; the three grandchildren, Jordan, Avery, and Sydney Wheeler, and the Diamonds who filled his life with immeasurable joy. He will be reunited with his beloved companion, Brutus, who surely greets him with open paws in the great beyond.

A memorial gathering to honor Doug's life will take place on May 29, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northeast, located at 3047 E Dublin Granville Rd, Columbus, OH 43231. A reception will follow from 6:30 PM to 11 PM at Harry Buffalo, 6150 S Sunbury Rd, Westerville, OH 43081.

As we bid farewell to Doug, let’s remember him not with sorrow, but with the same joy he shared with us all. He taught us to embrace life, relish every moment, and always include everyone in our lives’ grand festivities. So, raise a glass, share a laugh, and remember Doug, the man who made life a little sweeter and a lot more fun.
