Dr. Terry "Skip" P. Magee

September 30, 1963 — May 14, 2025

Powell

Dr. Terry “Skip” P. Magee, 61, of Powell, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

Born in Meadville, Pennsylvania, on September 30, 1963, Skip came into the world as a “big baby”—nearly 10 pounds! A proud 1981 graduate of Conneaut Lake High School, he was active in both baseball and football, proudly wearing #40 on the football field. His love for athletics continued at Penn State Behrend and later at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated in 1986 with a B.S. in Finance and was a proud brother of Sigma Nu fraternity.

Before becoming a chiropractor, Skip traveled the country promoting fitness gyms, which led him to meet his first wife, Liza Cormanick, in Columbus. They married in 1991, and he went on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1994.

Skip and Liza made their home in Ohio, where he initially practiced in Canton before purchasing Dublin Chiropractic in Columbus. He faithfully served the Dublin community for over 31 years, always caring deeply for the health and well-being of his patients. Recently he provided chiropractic services to the Grace Clinics of Ohio.

Skip was a man of many passions. He had a love for health and fitness and spent many hours in the gym himself. He was an avid Harley-Davidson motorcyclist, a supporter of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, and a lifelong fan of Star Trek, the Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State football. He had a huge love for The Beatles, Elvis, and KISS, and just last summer, he discovered a newfound love for sailing with his wife Kathy. His Irish heritage ran deep, and he never passed up his favorite beer, Oberon. He also adored his pets—his dogs Jake and Jesse, and his cat Mr. Butters.

Known for his contagious laugh and mischievous sense of humor, Skip was a practical joker who especially enjoyed a good toilet joke. But above all, he loved his family fiercely.

Skip was preceded in death by his wife Liza, and his father William Magee. He is survived by his wife Kathy (Wright) Magee, whom he married in Nashville in 2019; his children Tyler (Erin) Magee and Katy Magee and stepchildren Hayley (Frank) Neukirchner and Taylor (Jacob) Pryor, granddaughter Elizabeth Magee. Skip was “Poppy” to Elizabeth. He also leaves behind his mother Dreama Magee, sisters Kelly (Scott) Buck and Kristi (Ed) Kulisek, brother Greg (Robyn) Magee, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 - 5:30pm, Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, OH 43065, where a memorial service will begin at 5:30pm.
