Ed Crockett, born on November 18, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, known for his warmth and passion for music and photography.
Ed met the love of his life, Karen S. Crockett, in the OSU Marching Band, where their shared passion for music brought them together. They married in 1974 and created a joyful life filled with laughter, love, and a shared dedication to their interests. Together, they were an inseparable team, known for capturing the spirit of OSU through photography. Ed served as the OSU marching band photographer for several decades, creating cherished memories not only for himself and Karen but for countless others in the music community.
His love for music extended beyond photography; he was also a talented tuba player and sang in various music ensembles, where his passion resonated with everyone who had the pleasure of hearing him perform. Ed's artistic talents allowed him to leave a lasting impression on those around him.
Ed was especially proud of the family he and Karen built together. He is survived by his devoted wife, Karen; two loving sons, Ben Crockett and Andrew Crockett; and his cherished brothers, Shan (Adele Ellis) Crockett, Richard (Jeanette Gent) Crockett, and James (Romaine) Crockett.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Crockett, and mother, Ruth Crockett. Ed's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the joyous times spent with him and will remember his kind spirit and gentle demeanor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, January 24th at Indianola Presbyterian Church, 1970 Waldeck Ave., beginning at 2pm. https://www.indianolapres.org/ Additional parking available at OSU's Arps Garage.
