Ed Maksem

Edward “Ed” William Maksem, 62, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Ed was born on February 8, 1963, in Berea, Ohio to Edward J. and Mary K. (Donnan) Maksem.

Ed enjoyed powerlifting, working on cars, trucks and motorcycles, and watching OSU football.

Ed will be deeply missed by his wife of eighteen years, Rain A. Maksem; children Edward W. Maksem II and Jessica D. Maksem (Theodore J. Toalston); grandchild Edward W. Maksem III; brother Michael Maksem; nieces Mary Maksem and Maria Maksem; stepchildren Kaitlin T. M. Derring and Alexandra P. S. Deering; and step-grandchildren Owen, Trevor, Jax and Emory.

Ed was preceded in death by his father Edward J. and mother Mary K. Maksem.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from Noon to 1 p.m. at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery 9571 N High St Lewis Center, OH 43035.
