Edith White

Edith "Jean" White, 91, of Hurricane, WV and formerly of Orient, OH passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014. Jean was born in Portsmouth, OH on September 29, 1922, to Nevada F. and Mattie (Denning ) Morris and is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth D. White; parents; brother, Nevada F. Morris; sister, Rosemary Johnson.

Survivors include her daughters, Donna J (David) Snider and Rosemary (Stephen) Parkins; sisters, Mattie Kaneff and Betty Jo Jarrell; grandchildren, Karla (Thomas) Buckley, Paul (Carrie) Casto, David (Melynda) Snider Jr, Robert Snider, Matthew (Natalie) Parkins; great-grandchildren, TJ Buckley, Amanda Buckley, Lindsay Snider, David Snider III, Chris Casto, Abbie Casto, Catie Casto, Xander Snider, Haley (Caleb) Grady; great-great-granddaughter, Annie McClelland Grady; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Edith was a member at First Baptist Church of Grove City, former member of Walnut Heights Baptist Church and Stowe Baptist Center. She was a longtime supporter and volunteer at Stowe Baptist Center where she taught reading to non-English speaking adults and sewing classes. In her 70's, she went on a Mission Trip to Mexico with other volunteers from Stowe.

Family and friends will gather on Friday, March 14, 2014, 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City OH where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM.

Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estate in Reynoldsburg, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stowe Mission of Central OH, 888 Parsons Avenue, PO Box 06341, Columbus, OH 43206.
