Edward "Eddie" Betts

“Edward ‘Eddie’ Charles Betts, age 57, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on November 1, 2026.

Born on December 22, 1968, Eddie was a man of immense kindness, creativity, and humor. He spent his life pursuing his passion for music, playing drums at local establishments and expressing his creativity through making unique works of art.

Eddie leaves behind a legacy of laughter, the rhythm of his drums, a toast with a cold beer, and a heart forever loyal to Ohio State football. He loved with his whole heart and would do just about anything for the family and friends closest to him. His kindness, humor, and unmistakable personality will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Sally Clegg and Edward Charles Betts Sr. He is survived by wife, Sherry Betts; his daughters, Jackelyn Betts and Brook Betts; his siblings, Kelli Harris, Kerri Hinton, and Kris Clayton, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A service celebrating and honoring Eddie’s life will be held from 12:00pm until time of service at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Chapel, in Grove City, Ohio.”
